The brand needed to hold two things at once — the warmth of well-loved, hand-restored furniture, and the confidence of a considered, timeless identity. I led the brand identity from concept to guidelines: a bold, geometric wordmark softened with rounded joinery details (echoing the smooth joints of mid-century furniture), a supporting armchair logomark drawn in a single continuous stroke, a warm two-color palette (Brandy Brown and Antique White), and a full application system — business cards, letterhead, email signature, storefront signage, neon signage, social presence, website, and apparel. The 17-page site introduces the zone to new businesses from around the world, mainly Saudi Arabia, China, and the US. Because the zone sits by the sea, blue and marine tones lead the palette. The overall design is minimal and clean, to convey trust and reliability. Each element of the design—from the colors chosen to the interactive features—has been carefully selected to reflect the unique identity of Ras Al-Khair SEZ, making the site both visually appealing and highly functional. I art-directed the design after researching the region, and I designed the UI and UX together with creative director Winnie Tsang, including the interactive map that helps visitors explore the area. The concept adds a small touch of whimsy to an otherwise minimal, clean identity. Two contrasting typefaces are paired to strike that balance. The color palette mixes bold and pastel tones, applied selectively, so the brand feels dynamic without becoming loud. I art-directed the pitch, chose the color palette, designed the overall layout, and created the social media, editorial, and banner materials. The identity draws on Chinese street food culture, with an unpretentious, home-style feel. The “O!” in the name captures the small delight of discovering really good food.
